Has anyone else experienced the hell on earth that is dead connection detection through SQL*NET on Oracle RDBMS 7.3.3 on Unixware? And, if so, did the upgrade to Oracle RDBMS 7.3.4 save the day?
Our overnight processes are being massacred, and the finger of suspicion is pointing towards this 'feature'. We know that we can turn it off, but ultimately we want it to work harmlessly alongside our users, as dead connection detection is alas quite necessary under our environment at present.
I'd appreciate the odd thought or two, if anyone has survived the Oracle/Unixware experience...
