Should be...

We run two Sun E6000's with the old 200's series storage arrays using firstwatch, volumen mgr etc - one node run oltp, the other runs batch updates...

Your options essentially are:

"Failover"
Each disk is owned by one (and only one) node. The database is basically set up in the normal way. In the event of first watch detecting a fault, you import the disk groups into the other node, take on its IP address and start up oracle and you're away...

OR

"Parallel"
You run disks shared by both nodes and run parallel server on both machines. this in essence give you a "single" database in which everything runs...
