How can I send mail from oracle?

Hi Everybody,

I am using Oracle 8.04 on Digital Unix V4.0 alpha. I would like to know if i can send an email for an update on a table.I was thinking probably if i could write a trigger on update, if this could send an email. I don't know how to go about doing this. Is there any other way by which i could send an email upon update on a table.

Is there any DBMS package that I can call.
