Using a PL/SQL package/procedure to wrap the calls to DBMS_LOB and allow you piecewise access to the LOB data is fine. You can certainly get better performance using OCI 8, but the learning curve is a bit steep. Received on Wed Nov 11 1998 - 00:00:00 CET
