Just create a Unix user, and make profile with database SID and libraries. Normally you should have made a script for backup and had placed in Crontab so that you run backup and but the output on disk and compress it, and later but it on tape.

That job should also run via crontab, and this fellow should only responsible of changing tapes and placing them in safe place.

You should provide the hardcopy of these scripts and Photocopy the Backup and restore chapter for any decent book or get the Backup and resotre book of Oracle and give it to your boss.
