HELP - oracle in WAN

Sorry for intrusion, I need to make an application that write into two istance of data-base (ORACLE) on two server (NT) linked by WAN (X25 - 64k). I've used the DBLINK, but it need 20 second only to make the connection and execute a select on a very little table to return a record.
