Empoyers might look favorable on training from college extensions. I took a SQL class at UCSD extension and at one job interview I went on and they liked that. Knowing UNIX is good as well because Oracle is ported to UNIX (among other things). Demand for Oracle varies, but in markets with a large high-tech industry, demand will probably also be fairly high.
