PRODUCT: DIGITAL OpenVMS Alpha, Version 7.1

COMPONENTS: Security (Audit Server Process)

             Operator Communication Manager (OPCOM)

SOURCE: Digital Equipment Corporation

SYMPTOM: The Audit Server process logs the following OPCOM message on the system console when mapping to memory resident global sections (even though auditing is not enabled for this object type):

     %%%%%%%%%%%  OPCOM  22-MAY-1997 10:24:26.97  %%%%%%%%%%%
     Message from user AUDIT$SERVER on NODENM
     %AUDSRV-W-NOACTION, no alarm or audit name specified;
        requester PID: nnnnnnnn

This behavior occurs after upgrading to OpenVMS Alpha V7.1.

DIGITAL RESPONSE: Engineering has acknowledged this problem and plans to address it in a future release of OpenVMS Alpha only.

WORKAROUND: The ECO kit ALPSYS addresses the problem described in this article. Refer to the ECO-SUMMARY article to determine if this ECO corrects the problem for your specific configuration. More information regarding this kit may be found in the ECO-SUMMARY database by using a query of ALPSYS.

  • WARNING ***
