Intelligent Agents and Solais 2.6

I'm the DBA for a rather large DB in Oklahoma. I'm trying to install the Intelligent Agents that my life as a DBA will be much easier. Well, my version of UNIX (2.6) has a different snmpd that what Oracle expects. Has anyone else ran into this problem? And if so, how did you correct? In fact, any help on the whole process of installing and configuring the Intelligent Agent would be greatly appreciated.
