Re: 32Bit ODBC driver for Oraclev7.1

This is something I have just been looking at. Firstly, you need to determine which ODBC driver manager you are using. Find the file ODBC32.DLL and examine properties.

Once you know the version of the driver manager, apply the following rules:

Version 1.x of Oracle's ODBC Driver will work with 1.x of driver manager Version 2.x of Oracle's ODBC Driver will work with 2.x of driver manager

The only ORACLE ODBC driver which will work with version 3.x of driver manager (which is the one you use when you are using Office97 products) is 2.5.3.1.0 b which is downloadable from the Oracle site (11MB). Once you download this file you should also apply a patch which will bring it to 2.5.3.1.3

When you are using EXCEL you need to use a file DSN as opposed to a system DSN. j wrote:
