AMD is a leading manufacturer of microprocessors for the semiconductor industry. Our K6 chip is receiving rave reviews. It's faster than a Pentium Pro and more powerful than anything Windows 95 has ever seen. AMD is currently hiring for the following position:

ORACLE DBA BS/BA; MS/MA in CS, IS, or math. Must have at least 5 years experience with design and administration of Oracle 7 relational databases. Design experience should include analysis of customer/application requirements and use of software tools for logical and physical database design, preferably with Power Designer. Database administration experience should include database installation, space management, capacity planning, security, monitoring and tuning, backup and recovery and troubleshooting. Must have extensive knowledge of stored procedures and triggers, including strong development skills using PL/SQL. Must have development experience with Pro*C and shell script programming. Must have strong Unix expertise, preferably Solaris or AIX, and a basic knowledge of networked computer systems. Must have a proven record of technical leadership on major projects. Project management experience and exposure to database replication is desirable. Knowledge of MRP, PowerBuilder and semiconductor manufacturing is desirable.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Design, implement and administer databases for manufacturing decision support systems. Work with manufacturing and product line customers as well as applications programmers to define data requirements. Implement and support worldwide replicated databases. Provide technical leadership and participate in software development projects involving contractors and cross-functional teams within AMD.
