ad hoc query - report writers

Which ad hocl query/report writers have you used with your sql databases?

I am running into what I think are limitations/quirks with sybase's infomaker.

this report writer needs to be
#1, easy for the end user to use to run their own ad hoc queries
#2, be able to design 'mis' reports for standard eom reporting 'stuff'
