IDS JDBC Driver is a lightweight (60k) type-3 driver. Eventhough it talks to Oracle through ODBC, it still performs well.

P.S. Weblogic's T3 driver is a type-3 JDBC driver. The shortcoming of that
driver is that the T3 server (in Java) runs on Java VM. A huge overhead
and slow execution. Also, the driver does not support extended SQL. Received on Wed May 07 1997 - 00:00:00 CEST
