Oracle-Visual C++ connectivity

Hi,

I am trying to figure out how to handle ODBC connectivity between Visual C++ and Oracle 7.2 residing on a Sun Solaris machine.

Do I need to use PRO*C with some ODBC driver and SQL*NET on the PC side ?

I'd appreciate any suggestions/opinions in this regard.
