You need to install BOTH versions of sqlnet, 'cause of V1 for connection from MAC and V2 for MTS.

You can start the V1 by using command such as 'tcpctl start'. There is no configuration but only to add service port number into /etc/services. This port number must correspond between your Mac and Server. (Oracle recomend that number is 1525.) For example, add into services' file as following,
orasrv 1525 TCP/IP
