Hi, Oracle people:

This newsgroup, comp.databases.oracle, is going to be removed on December 9, 1996. This removal is part of the reorganization we voted for back in September.

It is time to switch to the new newsgroups:

   comp.databases.oracle.server
   comp.databases.oracle.tools
   comp.databases.oracle.marketplace
   comp.databases.oracle.misc

Messages are picking up in each of the groups, and I am especially pleased with the job postings in cdo.marketplace.

The new groups have been created to help us all read and post messages that are targeted toward a more specific subject area. I hope the end result is that information is both quicker and easier to find.

If the new groups don't exist on your server, then it is time to gently harass your newsgroup administrator. Official "newgroup" commands to create each of the groups have been sent out twice by the usenet authorities over the past three weeks, so your system should have them.
