located in San Rafael, CA, twelve miles north of San Francisco, is
looking
for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The position involves supporting over 750 users of a worldwide mission critical information system used by Product Support and Development teams as an Oracle DBA. Also responsible for integration with external data systems. It requires the ability to work jointly with the application development team in the Corporate I/S organization. Complete job description follows: REQUIREMENTS:
* BSCS or equivalent (MS preferred)
* 5+ Years of Information System Development Experience
* 3+ years of Relational Database Design
* 3+ years of Oracle Relational Database administration
* 3+ years of SQL-PLUS scripting languages
* Experience with SAP a plus
* Experience with Unix O/S and related scripting languages
* Experience with NT-based clients
* Experience with PERL scripting languages
* Experience with client/server applications a plus
* Experience with multi-national systems a plus
* Strong communication and organizational skills
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
***Liaison between internal application development team and off-site
hardware/database support organization. ***On-site Oracle dba, monitoring database performance, responding to
system perturbations, recommending periodic system tuning to support
changing application usage factors by user community. This would include ongoing activities such as evaluating application performance bottlenecks and working with application programming staff to implement solutions to these bottlenecks. ***Document, maintain and expand existing PERL and SQL-PLUS based interface scripts between Oracle application, SAP, multiple instances of internally-developed Customer Registration database, UNIX email interfaces and related external data sources. ***Document, maintain and expand existing PERL and SQL-PLUS based scripts used by application maintenance team for ongoing activities such as ensuring master tables are synchronized; enforce data accuracy and inclusion of external information required by user groups. ***Determine appropriate database structure solutions to meet business requirements and help develop detailed design specifications in conjunction with appropriate input from application team. ***Participate in the design, setup and testing of periodic database and application upgrades. ***Plan and conduct thorough program testing, which includes business analyst's acceptance and sign-off of specific changes. ***Prioritize and categorize business analysts requests and assigned programming projects. Address requests in a timely manner as appropriate.
***Communicate progress on system support issues to Autodesk management
and user groups.
