Project Leader

Job Responsibilities/Duties: Lead a team in the design, development, testing and maintenance of Corporate Financial Applications. Must be hands-on, will have the opportunity to learn PEOPLESOFT. Duties to include, but not limited to:
- Meet with users to develop thorough understanding of their requirements.
- Work with programming staff to develop system specifications and develop appropriate applications.
- Develop project plan and assigns responsibilities; coordinate with other project leaders on inter-department programming projects.
- Keep user(s) and MIS management appraised of progress/issues and programs being developed/modified; provides general supervision to team members.
- Perform as a senior member and provide consultation and support to other members of the MIS staff.
- Assist in the development of programming standards and computer security controls.
- Test programs and develops appropriate documentation.
- Provide training on new or modified programs.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree, 5-7 years’ experience, and a programming
background.
* Experience with financial applications to include general ledger,
accounts payable,
accounts receivable, billing, purchasing, inventory, and fixed
assets.
* Strong understanding of business/financial operations.
- Experience with relational databases such as INFORMIX or ORACLE.
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop recommendations and solutions.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Strong customer and results orientation.
- Ability to be an effective team member and handle project leadership responsibility.
