Win95's editor has the terrible feature that when you save the file as 'text file (*.txt)' as, say, 'myquery.sql', it creates a file named 'myquery.sql.txt'. Great, ey? Be sure that, when saving your SQL statement, you select 'All files (*.*)'. That should create a file with the name you specify and with no appendix '.txt'.
