Hi,

We have just installed SQL*Net v2 for Macintosh and we got a 12203 error when trying to connect. We are using a TCP/IP protocol adapter. We are able to access the server in Telnet and if we type the following command on the shell prompt of an Oracle user :

sqldba mode=line

connect system/manager_at_CISERVER

we can connect to the CISERVER without any problem. We use the same tnsnames.ora on the server and on the Macintosh.

Here is our client.log file :

Fatal OSN connect error 12203, connecting to:

(DESCRIPTION=(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=oracle7)(CID=(PROGRAM=NetTest)(HOST=mac)(USER=Roger)))(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=ipc)(KEY=SUNCI))(ADDRESS=(COMMUNITY=TCPCOM)(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=192.9.205.6)(PORT=1525))))
