You can create as many tablespaces as you wish (have disk drives to support) and they can be a large as your devices will allow. Release 7.3 has now eliminated the limit on table extents so your tables can extent without bounds across tablespace data files. Previously tables were allowed to extent a certain number of times determined by the block size of your database.

So the answer to your question really is how many gigabytes or terabytes (disk devices) can you attach to your server platform. Received on Sat Oct 05 1996 - 00:00:00 CEST
