oracle bitmapped indexes are SLOWER than SYBASE IQ

We want to buy a decision support RDBMS and have been told that oracle cannot do bitmapped indexes properly (they are too SLOWWW !!) compared to sybase IQ.

Can anyone offer anything to support or deny this ??

Is anyone actually using bitmapped indexes?? (no just playing around with them)
