I don't know where any whitepapers are; however, I have used raw
partitions on
an HP 9000 Model 890 running HP-UX 9.x. The raw partitions gave us
better
performance. The only problem with raw partitions is that they are
harder to
manage. Use raw partitions if you have a good system administrator.
