Hello, Oracle newsgroup,

A massive cancel has occurred on 1996/09/21 (Saturday). Over 32000 "cmsg cancel" messages were issued (71 were from comp.databases.oracle).

They carried the following notice (or something similar):

These cancels are issued as a service to the Internet providers
not wishing to carry articles from computer geeks and eggheads.
Sites that do not wish to take advantage of this free service can
easily can opt out of these cancels by "aliasing out" the
     geekcancel pseudosite.

Each one is forged in the name of the original article's author. An article I posted was one of those hit.

If your message didn't appear, or you can no longer find it, then it may have been among the 71 that were cancelled.

Sure hope somebody can locate the source of the cancels.

Regards,
