Tha main reasons why V7.2 is supported and not V7.3 are:

  1. SQL*NET V1 is not supported under V7.3. It is not even shipped. It is possible to get it working, but thats a long way from supported.
  2. All Pro*C code must be recompiled to run under 7.3 (according to the release notes).

I know of software that is not supported under 7.3 yet. I would believe that this is the case of some NT software suppliers.
