This smells like flame bait, but Linux has had standard pthreads support for a while now. Additionally, with 2.0, users now have access to native kernel level threads. While both are good, Linux-Threads (kernel support) scales on SMP machines. They are good enough that toolkits like ACE, DCE, and CORBA. Linux does support multi-threaded applications. Depending on who you talk to, many even seem to think that Linus' implementation of threads is far better than Sun's.

Just somthing to think about.
