The subject of Oracle performance is too broad. "Oracle for UNIX Permance Tunung Tips" by Boeheim, Duarte, Johnson from Oracle Corp. lists 66 specific Oracle tuning tips and possible bottle necks. Oracle Document Part No. A22535-2.

"Oracle performance Tuning'" by Corrigan, and Gurry from O'Reilly & Associate. One of the best Oracle Tuning book.
