default date format change

Hi,

I have a problem and hope that someone can help me. My problem is that I am using a database with default date format 'DD-MON-YY', and all my oracle forms and propascal programs use this default date format without using date mask. But because of the coming of year 2000, the application may get problem if user inputs a date as '01-Jan-00' and oracle treats it as '01-Jan-1900' instead of '01-Jan-2000', I am thinking whether I can solve this problem by just changing the default date format to be 'DD-MON-RR'. Or I need to do more?

Does anyone have any idea or encounter the same problem before?
