This appears to be a DNS failure but does anybody know if oracle 7.2.3 will follow nswitch.conf?

ERROR: ORA-06105: NETTCP: remote host is unknown

If I use a SQLNET 1 and use the ip address of the machine it connects fine.

This machine has an entry for the machine that I cannot reach in /etc/hosts but doesn't appear to use it. Received on Fri Sep 13 1996 - 00:00:00 CEST
