Call your local HP rep. Talk to them about their obnoxiously huge drive array systems. They can set it up so that you can maintain two drive systems and pull one off line for a cold backup, *or* you can get some killer RAID tape drives from the same people and run monster backups. HP can solve your problem, but you may not like the price. Caveat: DEC may be able to do the same thing, but our rep hasn't told about anything that extensive yet. I worked some configs at FDR that involved monster systems, and HP fit the bill.
