I am running the same rev of Oracle (7.1.6) on Dynix/Ptx 2.1.7   and I am having the same problem. It is causing serious backup   problems (i.e. hung database). Do you know if the patch is available?   Can I call oracle and ask for it? Has anyone recived it ?> This problem   has cause me alot of sleepless nights.

 Thanks
