: I have just installed Slackware96 (AKA Linux 2.0) and have the Oracle SCO
: 7.3.2.1.0 (production) CD-ROM. I am now making sure that my iBCS and COFF
: environment is all set and will start the install, hopefully, tomorrow.

Quick progress report. I now have the base Oracle processes running - pmon, dbwr, smon, etc.

I am still experiencing a niggling problem upon relinking the RDBMS with PL/SQL: /usr/ccs/lib/crt1.0: malformed input file (not rel or archive), which is sporadic and prevents a relatively clean install.

I am trying to track down the problem, which I suspect is with my environment. I can replicate this error message using a very simple 'hello world' program, so willl do further investigation. Once I find a solution I'll post detailed steps of the installation process.

Again this is Xposted to comp.databases.oracle & comp.os.linux.misc.
