Extent value calculation

I have a question regarding calculation of the number of bytes in each extent.

If I have assigned an initial extent of 1 , of size 100M and a next extent of size 50M, I want to find out the number of bytes exhausted in the first extent when data is loaded and in case the next extent is used , the number of bytes used in the next or second extent.

I am trying to overcome the situation of "failed to allocate extent" problem.
