Heh. You just have to remember to run *all* the scripts. We just went from 7.0.16 to 7.2.3, and one of the scripts supposedly upgraded from 7.1.x to 7.2. THe comments even said "This is safe to run on version 7.1.2." Well, we interpreted that as meaning that other scripts--such as the 7.1.3 ==> 7.1.6 and the 7.1.6 ==> 7.2 weren't necessary. Run this baby, and you've taken it from version 7.1.2 straight to 7.2.

Well, silly us (and silly Oracle, perhaps, for having that comment in their script). Doing that means that several objects new to Oracle 7.2 did not get created (such as the job queues), which caused us grief in several areas. (These were objects created in the scripts that we originally bypassed.)

We (me and our current on-site Oracle consultant) quickly added the word NOT to that comment. :)

Once we re-ran the scripts, including the ones we previously skipped, and then ran catalog, catproc and catexp, all was indeed well.

Just be careful out there.
