The question was:
Oracle provides the ability to recover to a point in time, so, if what
you mean by backward recovery is going back to a particular point in
time you could do the following: Take the last full backup prior to the
point in time you wish to recover to and apply it to the database. Then
take the archive logs and use them to roll the database forward to the
point in time you wish to recover the database to.
