We encountered long connect delays when we moved from win3.1, sql*net 1 to win 95 and sql*net 2. We are using 16 bit third party windows software on the client machines which uses sql*net.
We found that these delays happen when win 95 and sql*net 2 are combined. We are back with sql*net 1 for now

Page 7 of the release notes for Oracle7 workgroup server 7.2.2.4.6 has the following item:"When using Novell's Client 32 for windows and connecting to a Netware server with 16 bit Oracle SPX Protocol Adapter for Windows, the second server connection can take some time"

We encountered delays while using our software because it was apparently making connections and then breaking them as various client functions were performed.
