We do this with Oracle Glue which allows "containers" (or host
variables) to be files. So an insert values clause can have a
container that refers to a client filename whose contents get
inserted into the Oracle LONG RAW column. I am sure Oracle objects
for OLE (oracle's successor to Glue) also has a similar facility.
