We once spent hours on our own and with Oracle support trying to figure out why we could not get two instances to run on a Novell box.
It turned out to be that we modified the CONFIG.ORA file with the Windows Notepad. We edited the file again with a DOS editor and it worked (yes, we had checked every single letter, case, and anything else we could imagine). Received on Fri Jul 12 1996 - 00:00:00 CEST
