Hi Matthieu

Yes it is documented, but Oracle won't let you have it - it's all proprietary stuff which they've spent years and millions of dollars developing and they won't just hand it to their competitors on a plate.

Even the developers who write the code only specialise in certain parts of the database, like MTS or kernel, so even if you got hold of some documentation you probably couldn't make much sense of it.

If you've got complex queries then you could run them overnight and either generate a text file or insert the data into another table. I'm afraid there really is no substitue for SELECT.
