I have seen this "problem", when trying to store time fields with a user defined mask in PRO*C and looking at the results in the database using SQL*PLUS. The date part of the "problem" would go away if I specified a date time format such as "YYYY MMM DD HR24: MI", but I was never convinced that the time portion was stored properly even after discussing it with the author of the program - his explanation was this method gave more accurate results than using the default ORACLE method.

ORACLE DOES HAVE SOME SORT OF BUG WITH STORING TIME VALUES. Wish I could have provided more positive assistance, but if moral support is of any consolation, you've got it. Yourname_at_somwhere.COM wrote:
