Star join

I remember reading in the Oracle 7.2 pre release notes that Oracle would support a "star" join starting in release 7.2. We have since migrated to release 7.2 and even have a 7.3 test instance, but I have not been able to find any information referring to star joins or how to implement them. We have a specific interest in this as a part of a data warehouse project that we are working on. Does anyone out there have any information about how to implement the star join, or whether the support is really there? Thanks in advance.
