Hi,

after installing ORACLE 7.1 on an OS/2 system I forgot the password for the "SYSTEM" and "INTERNAL" accounts. I was very disappointed to get the problem fixed via copying another PASSWORD.ORA file from another OS/2 system in /ORAOS2/RDBMS71.

At least I had expected some extra protection based on system informations going into the password file like the volume ID of the hard disk.

So I see no way to protect data from unauthorized access within OS/2 and (I guess) Windows.

Any opionions?

Andreas
