Shawn,

This is a common task in today's migration environment. The most common and direct approach is to write COBOL programs which generate ASCII files. Be especially careful with packed and compressed fields. Then run SQL*Loader. If there is a lagre volume, there are some tools are the market but they start at $100K and up, such as ETI, Prism, Platinum, and others. I can provide more info on tools if you are interested.
