Am I the only one?

Am I the only one that thinks the implementation of Developer 2000 (1.2) is primitive? I'm just getting started with Developer 2000 mainly because I support both Windows & Macintoshes and new releases of Developer 2000 for Macintosh as well as other platforms seem to lag way behind Windows (I digress).

I just came from a user's group seminar where the main thing most of the consultants were saying was to avoid using all these nice features of Developer 2000 (colors, fonts, icons etc...) if you had to support more than one platform or if all your machines aren't exactly the same (screen size & resolution to mention a few). Evidently it even gets worse if you want to deploy your application on multiple platforms (aghhhhhh!). I know that Oracle wants Developer 2000 to look like other applications for a particular platform, but I think they ought to have a little less dependancy on the hardware (i.e. the new buzz word hardware abstraction).

Am I crazy to think the developer ought to be able to allow the user to resize a window or change the screen resolution without having to worry about whether things line up. A good example on the Macintosh is Mac340 you can resize the window or change the resolution of your monitor and the terminal window still looks good.
