SQL*NET V2 On A Shared File Server

I have a question about this. If I install SQL*NET V2 on a file server does each PC that uses that installation need to be running the same flavor of TCP/IP. Or can I have some of the PC's use Microsoft TCP/IP and others use FTP's PCTCP/IP ?
