There is a lot of theories. Do you use 2k,4k,8k... Oracle block size?
We're running Oracle financials and soon Oracle manufacturing. We
have a relatively small database, 16 gigs. But we're doing a lot
of full table scans. Since our block size is 2k, we're planning to
upgrade to 4k or 8k and there is where I need your knowledge...
what do you think is the better guess? I don't want to start again
next week-end!
My DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS is 51200, so 100 megs of memory and the hit ratio
is around 98%.
If I put 4k, I will have 25600 DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS
..... 8k, ........... 12800 ................what about the hit ratio?
