BUSINESSWORLD (Manila) via Individual Inc. : Oracle Systems Phils., Inc. announced it plans to expand its consulting service to extend its market presence in as many industries as possible.

The announcement was made after Oracle Corp.'s professional and consulting services, otherwise known as Oracle Services, was ranked as one of the world's largest consulting organizations by the International Data Corp. (IDC), a US- based computer research firm.

Oracle Services implements Oracle Applications, custom application development, advanced technologies such as data warehousing and scalable online transaction processing (OLTP) solutions, core technologies, program management, and business process re-engineering.

Oracle Phils. managing director Bernard Y. Yu said the company will give special emphasis to leading industries such as manufacturing, software development, government, telecommunications, banking and transportation.

"Oracle is now recruiting more world-class IT consultants to implement the new services to be offered," said Yu.

As part of its expansion program, Oracle also announced the launching of its advanced technologies group, a specialized consulting service focused on helping customers implement complex solutions such as data warehousing, mission-critical OLTP systems, mobile computing and project management.

For rapid implementation of Oracle applications, Oracle released AIM Advantage, a software toolkit based on proven methods used by Oracle consultants.

The product contains pre-defined templates and hypertext guidelines to support business process analysis, design, development, conversion, interfaces, testing and project management.

Oracle is also investing in object-oriented development methods, pioneering new ways to leverage reusable objects to decrease the cost and complexity of systems development.

Oracle Phils. is a subsidiary of Oracle Corp., an international supplier of software for information management.

With annual revenues of more than US$3.5 billion, Oracle Corp. offers its database tools and application products, along with related consulting, education, and support services, in more than 90 countries around the world.
