Yes, sometimes Oracle support does suck, especially when I can't fully define what my problem is - but then, that's really my fault, isn't it? I've had some tars outstanding for quite a while as well.

On the other hand, I've gotten some *fantastic* support off them as well - one time my database crashed at 20h00 and the guy stayed with me for well over three hours. As I struggled into the wee hours, their support guys rang me several times and helped me through the recovery procedure.

I guess it really comes down to how critical the problem is that you're experiencing and how well-defined it is :-)
