-- Srikanth: The sizing of the database is function of what you are planning to do with it. That is, are you building a data warehouse or are you building a transaction processing database? Theses are two different different type of databases and have to be sized differently. An OLTP system will need much more consideration of redo log and rollback placement than will a well thought out data warehouse. A DW will need a much larger TEMP tablespace than an OLTP system. The point is, before you start building your database find out from the developers, who are the DBA's users, what use and at what level of activity, the database will be put to. Hope this helps.
