OPS is an evolving product. It is in the market for quite some time. A lot of shops are considering using it as an alternative for huge mainframe databases. OPS could be used for different purposes like partitioning the data on multiple machines (because of memory constraint, storage constraints, response time etc.), fault tolerant database (or backup database) etc.

So far I have heard only positive things about OPS.
